Job Description

Aramark is seeking a skilled Catering Manager to lead the development and execution of catering and conference event services at Memorial University. This leadership position oversees all aspects of catering solutions and special events, ensuring seamless delivery and exceptional customer experiences.

Job Responsibilities


• Receive and process incoming requests for catered services, utilizing the CaterTrax catering program
• Facilitate the delivery of prepared food and setup of events, crafted from Banquet Event Orders (BEOs)
• Develop and complete catering solutions to meet customers' needs, ensuring quality and consistency
• Develop and maintain effective client and customer rapport, fostering strong relationships
• Conduct campus outreach to various departments to market Aramark's catering services
• Attend community events or reach out to the community to market Aramark's catering services
• Deliver consistent quality in planning and carrying out events, ensuring exceptional customer experiences
• Train and lead catering employees to ensure event standards are followed, ensuring quality in final presentation
• Provide completed BEOs to the team and ensure quality assurance that all requests are met prior to events
• Meet with the Executive Chef regarding special requests or large events
• Responsible for the execution of catering events of varied size and scope, including staffing and management
• Ensure accurate reporting of all catering-related revenue, expenses, and receivables
• Ensure compliance with all food, occupational, and environmental safety policies
• Oversee Bar Operations, including bar orders and weekly inventory
• Follow on-site allergen guidelines

Qualifications


• A valid Newfoundland driver's license is required for occasional use of a fleet vehicle
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in culinary, hospitality, or business is an asset
• Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role
• Prior experience in a management or supervisory role is preferred
• Previous experience in events, hospitality, and catering is required
• Previous experience in marketing or sales within the hospitality or retail sector is preferred
• Must be reliable with effective time-management skills to work autonomously
• Available to work event-based hours, including evenings and weekends
• Must have excellent communication skills
• Complete Food Handlers and Alcohol Service Certifications as required
• Requires occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lb.
• Ability to stand for extended periods
