Job Summary

Toronto Hydro is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular health and safety inspections of our facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Develop and implement effective EHS programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address EHS risks and opportunities.
  • Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and report on EHS incidents and near-misses.
  • Develop and maintain EHS metrics and reporting to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay up-to-date with changing regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure Toronto Hydro remains compliant and competitive.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS, with a strong background in regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
