Toronto Hydro is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As an EHS Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and safety of our employees, customers, and the environment.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct regular health and safety inspections of our facilities and operations to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop and implement effective EHS programs and procedures to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate EHS risks associated with our operations.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on EHS policies and procedures.
- Investigate and report on EHS incidents and near-misses, and develop recommendations for improvement.
- Stay up-to-date with changing EHS regulations and industry best practices, and ensure that our EHS management system is aligned with these requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance and stay informed about emerging EHS issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health and Safety, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS, with a strong background in regulatory compliance and risk management.
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation or equivalent.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with the ability to influence and persuade others.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
