Fraud Detection Specialist

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for investigating and preventing fraudulent activities related to credit card transactions. Your analytical skills and attention-to-detail will enable you to identify potential fraud trends and escalate them to the management team.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations into questionable credit card activity, contacting customers proactively to resolve issues.
- Analyze alerts generated by fraud detection tools to assess the probability of fraudulent activity and make informed decisions to block accounts or contact cardholders.
- Collaborate with the team to identify potential points of compromise during large-scale fraud attacks, ensuring Scotiabank cards at risk are identified and actioned quickly.
- Share information on trends to ensure large-scale fraud trends are identified and addressed promptly.
- Communicate effectively with branches and other Bank departments to resolve inquiries related to fraud issues and/or complaints.
- Support the Bank's annual Fraud Plan and business objectives by achieving and maintaining required service level standards.
- Fluency in both English and French is essential (reading, writing, and spoken).
- Availability to work one of two shift options: Friday to Monday, 12 PM to 10 PM EST (10-hour shift, 4-day work week), or Thursday to Monday, 2 PM to 10 PM EST (8-hour shift, 5-day work week).
- Prior experience in Fraud detection is required.
- Experience working with Mastercard products is mandatory.
- Familiarity with TSYS systems and Microsoft Office is essential.
- Customer Service experience, preferably in the financial services industry, is required.
- Retail Banking and/or Advice/Call Centre experience is an asset.
- Post-secondary education in business or a related discipline would be considered an asset.

The estimated salary for this role is between $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Tangerine offers a competitive compensation package, including a salary range based on performance and experience.
