Job Summary:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Registrar, Graduate Programs. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the graduate programs at the University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and financial advising to graduate students, including providing options and consequences incorporating personal circumstances impacting academic success and an understanding of an individual's background.
  • Conduct detailed analysis on program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities.
  • Coordinate activities related to the preparation of annual graduate funding packages.
  • Promote graduate programs at recruitment events.
  • Analyze, score, and rank incoming applications, providing detailed information regarding admission requirements to prospective students and applicants.
  • Provide detailed explanations of admissions decisions.
  • Prepare draft statistical reports and summaries from data collected, design and optimize databases, handle sensitive and/or confidential information.
  • Direct the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees all performing a similar function.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in an academic student services environment in a university setting at the graduate studies level.
  • Experience applying and interpreting related academic policies and procedures.
  • Experience in successfully planning and coordinating events.
  • Experience working in student services and providing support to students.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities/deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Ability to interact with faculty, students, and professional colleagues in a tactful, professional, and diplomatic manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet different deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ROSI/ACORN and Degree Explorer.
  • Excellent database management skills.
  • High level accuracy and attention to detail.
