About the Role:
The University of Toronto's Faculty of Kinesiology and Physical Education is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Assistant Registrar, Graduate Programs. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of exceptional student services in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and guidance to graduate students on academic and financial matters, ensuring a high level of service excellence and a student-centered approach.
- Conduct thorough analysis of program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual graduate funding packages, ensuring timely and accurate delivery.
- Promote graduate programs at recruitment events, showcasing the Faculty's commitment to excellence and student success.
- Analyze and score incoming applications, providing detailed information on admission requirements to prospective students and applicants.
- Prepare detailed explanations of admissions decisions, ensuring transparency and fairness.
- Develop and maintain databases, handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Lead a team of staff-appointed employees, providing guidance and support to ensure seamless delivery of services.
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum five years of related experience in an academic student services environment in a university setting at the graduate studies level.
- Experience applying and interpreting related academic policies and procedures.
- Experience in successfully planning and coordinating events.
- Experience working in student services and providing support to students.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and relationship building skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to interact with faculty, students, and professional colleagues in a tactful, professional, and diplomatic manner.
- Demonstrated ability to meet different deadlines and manage competing priorities.
- Demonstrated knowledge of ROSI/ACORN and Degree Explorer.
- Excellent database management skills.
- High level accuracy and attention to detail.
