Job Summary:

The University of Toronto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as an Assistant Registrar, Graduate Programs. This is a full-time position that will play a critical role in supporting the graduate programs at the University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and financial advising to graduate students, including analyzing personal circumstances and providing options and consequences to support academic success.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of program efficiency and student learning outcomes to inform program planning activities.
  • Coordinate the preparation of annual graduate funding packages and promote programs at recruitment events.
  • Analyze and score incoming applications, providing detailed information regarding admission requirements to prospective students and applicants.
  • Prepare detailed explanations of admissions decisions and statistical reports.
  • Direct the activities of a group of staff-appointed employees performing similar functions.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
  • Minimum five years of related experience in an academic student services environment in a university setting at the graduate studies level.
  • Experience applying and interpreting related academic policies and procedures.
  • Experience in successfully planning and coordinating events.
  • Experience working in student services and providing support to students.
  • Superior oral and written communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft programs.
  • Ability to interact with faculty, students, and professional colleagues in a tactful, professional, and diplomatic manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet different deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of ROSI/ACORN and Degree Explorer.
  • Excellent database management skills.
  • High level accuracy and attention to detail.
