Market Expansion Strategist - Director

Estimated Annual Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 (dependent on experience)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Corporate Banking to lead our Canadian market expansion efforts.

The successful candidate will be responsible for driving business growth through effective management of human capital, organizational structure, and talent acquisition in accordance with business line strategies.

This role acts as an advisor to the business line by providing thought leadership, advice, and guidance on change management related strategies and implementation. The incumbent works closely with key stakeholders to build capabilities that maximize efficiencies, minimize risk, and ensure compliance with governing regulations and internal policies.

In this position, you will:

  • Develop and implement short- and long-term strategies to support Retail Performance mandate, Canadian Banking business line goals, and the Bank's overall objectives.
  • Lead and oversee the management and tracking of complement, remuneration planning, and monthly staffing and vacancy reporting for Canadian Regional Offices and Retail Branch Network.
  • Understand and embed Scotiabank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Create an environment where your team pursues effective operations in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • An undergraduate degree in business or human resources, or relevant work experience in the financial services industry with a minimum of 2 years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong communication skills, including verbal and written, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent influencing skills with highly effective interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to build consensus and obtain cooperation.
