Job Title: Building Permit Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Building Permit Specialist to join our team at Kerr Construction and Design. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing, reviewing, and managing municipal building permits, ensuring compliance with regulations and codes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review permit applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Develop and maintain databases and schedules to track permit timelines and actions.
  • Manage permit conditions and commitments for compliance tracking and reporting.
  • Prepare and review technical correspondence, project proposals, and technical reports.
  • Advise internal designers on permitting issues and provide guidance on compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with regulators and stakeholders to ensure project delivery and success.
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with AutoCAD and building permit management.
  • Diploma or bachelor's degree in architecture or building sciences.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems, construction methods, and materials.
  • Understanding of BC Building Code and building envelope concepts.
  • Excellent written and spoken English skills.
  • Organized and able to work well independently.
