Job Summary

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Regulatory Team, you will be responsible for leading the development of permit applications and managing permitting processes to support the construction, commissioning, and operational phases of our Woodfibre LNG Project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Permitting and Compliance
    • Develop and manage permit applications and amendments at the federal, provincial, and municipal levels, including marine permitting.
    • Collaborate with internal and external project team members to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Environmental Management
    • Support the development of environmental management plans for construction and operational phases.
    • Implement and track compliance with environmental commitments and conditions.
  • Regulatory Engagement
    • Manage relationships with regulatory agencies, Indigenous Groups, and stakeholders.
    • Advise key team members on monitoring programs and compliance requirements.
  • Project Support
    • Provide planning and project management support for regulatory activities.
    • Identify and mitigate permitting risks to ensure permits and approvals are secured.
Requirements
  • Education
    • University degree in an environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, ecology, marine biology, or natural resource management).
  • Experience
    • At least 5 years' experience in a permitting role for large natural resource or infrastructure projects in Western Canada.
    • Experience in marine permitting and/or permitting in British Columbia is an asset.
  • Skills
    • Exceptional research, written, and verbal communication skills.
    • Experience working with regulatory agencies at municipal, provincial, and federal levels.
    • Experience overseeing the work of environmental consultants.

    • Expertise with a variety of computer programs (e.g., Office 365, MS Teams, MS Visio, MS Project Control, Adobe Acrobat, DocuSign, etc.).
