Job Title: Permitting Specialist

Woodfibre Management Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Permitting Specialist to join our dynamic team in Vancouver, BC. As a key member of our Regulatory Team, you will play a crucial role in leading the development of permit applications and managing permitting processes to support the construction, commissioning, and operational phases of our Woodfibre LNG Project.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement regulatory permitting strategies to ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and municipal regulations.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to advance key permit strategy elements and support external engagement and consultation.
  • Manage and track permit applications, amendments, and renewals to ensure timely and effective permitting processes.
  • Provide planning and project management support to ensure compliance with Project regulatory and environmental commitments and conditions.
  • Identify and mitigate permitting risks to ensure permits and approvals are secured.
Requirements:
  • University degree in an environmental discipline (e.g., environmental science, environmental engineering, biology, ecology, marine biology, or natural resource management).
  • At least 5 years' experience in a permitting role for large natural resource or infrastructure projects in Western Canada, or equivalent project experience.
  • Exceptional research, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies at Municipal, Provincial, and Federal levels.
  • Experience overseeing the work of environmental consultants.
