We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Sales Representative to join our team at one of the most trusted names within the HVAC space in North America. Our client is a manufacturer & distributor with a comprehensive product line, and we are looking for a sales professional to manage their Kelowna branch.

About the Position

The HVAC Sales Representative will be responsible for managing their respective projects, which will involve a mix of inside and outside sales duties. This individual must be comfortable with quoting, preparing proposals for submission, processing orders, tracking orders, and troubleshooting. Good communication skills, self-motivation, and a desire to learn are required. Flexibility to deal with changing priorities and the ability to reliably respond in a timely manner are essential.

Primary Duties
  • Negotiate and land work, with a strong understanding of the job market.
  • Provide feedback to the estimating team on bids and pricing, including workload forecasting for projects being managed.
  • Assist engineers with product selection and layout projects.
  • Review purchase orders and bid documents to optimize profitability, and request IFC reviews as needed.
  • Create PBY files for the support team to issue submittals.
  • Create submittals in the absence of the project manager or support team.
  • Assist with technical submittals for the support team.
  • Process orders from the customer list in the absence of the support team after receipt of approved submittals.
  • Manage and process change orders and site instructions, including pricing.
  • Resolve discrepancies on orders with customers or site contacts for the support team.
  • Track orders and deliveries, and provide ETAs to customers.
  • Notify customers when orders arrive and arrange delivery if required.
  • Close out projects once complete, with full invoicing and maintenance documentation submitted.
  • Provide quotes for jobs not listed on the bid boards, including email requests.
  • Enter quotes with proper association to product codes, as illustrated in the branch's handbook.
  • Train staff in all phases of the sales process to ensure continuation of expected service levels.
  • Provide outstanding customer service, with a customer-first approach to business.
  • Consistently improve the quality of service to meet client expectations and minimize costs and maximize the company's competitive position.
  • Ensure adequate service levels and conduct review studies to determine cause, effect, and corrective actions required to hold team members accountable.
  • Self-educate and attend manufacturer's factory/training visits to ensure up-to-date knowledge on the latest product developments and software tools.
  • Build sustainable customer relationships and trust with customers' accounts through open communication.
  • Represent the company at site meetings as required.
  • Assist with customer events as required, such as open houses, sporting events, lunches, etc.
  • Perform other duties assigned by your manager.
Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar position (inside or outside sales).
  • University degree or college diploma.
  • EIT classification is an asset.
  • HVAC experience is required.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, creative, and resourceful.
  • Ready to bring positivity, energy, and enthusiasm into the workplace.
  • Professional approach to business and the workplace.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
  • Problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure unsupervised.
  • Strong work ethic guided by personal integrity and mutual respect.
