Job Title: HVAC Mechanical Sales Representative

TalentSphere Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturer and distributor in the HVAC space to fill a Mechanical Engineering Sales Representative position in their Kelowna branch.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting all mechanical manufacturers represented by the company and providing accurate and timely support to stakeholders in the HVAC industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry stakeholders, including engineers, architects, contractors, developers, and owners, to grow sales and expand market share in accordance with company goals and objectives.
  • Promote the sale of mechanical equipment, including air handling units, make-up air units, roof top package units, dedicated outdoor air units, heat pumps, chillers, and VRF systems.
  • Identify and maximize opportunities, carry out product selections for engineers and design/build contractors, interpret schedules, construction drawings, specifications, and prepare quotations and tenders.
  • Negotiate sales, project manage the entire sales cycle from initial enquiry through end of warranty period, and self-educate on the latest product developments and software tools.
  • Understand and remain current with industry and local codes and regulations, market trends, and competitor's product offerings.
  • Service the engineering community in an accurate and timely manner, maintain an understanding of company products, and cross-train on other mechanical products and air-side products.
  • Train and support colleagues on all aspects of air handling units, make-up air units, roof top package units, and dedicated outdoor air units, plan and implement new product introductions to the market, and visit job sites as needed.
  • Plan and accompany customers on factory visits, be a member of ASHRAE, and attend monthly ASHRAE meetings, organize and attend trade shows, and assist in all customer events as required.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience selling HVAC related mechanical equipment, with a thorough knowledge of mechanical products.
  • Professional Engineering Degree or a Diploma in Engineering Technology.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
  • Understanding of how to read and interpret construction drawings.
  • Positive attitude, exemplary attendance, ethical business practices, and a reliable team member.
