Collection Services Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Collection Services Specialist to join our Library Services team. This role is responsible for providing exceptional customer service and support for circulation and access services, including e-reserves and interlibrary loans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide circulation services using OMNI/Primo and Alma library systems, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of membership records, fines, courier materials, check-outs, renewals and returns.
- Offer general information services related to library spaces, collections, website, catalogue and other resources, promoting a welcoming environment for students, staff and faculty.
- Participate in creating engaging displays and social media initiatives to promote library resources and services.
- Supervise and assign tasks to student monitors as required, ensuring effective workflow management.
- Collaborate with the Library Services team to develop and maintain procedures for scanning services, optimizing and editing texts using Adobe Acrobat and/or ABBYY Fine Reader.
- Process e-reserve texts, archival and special collections, and other texts as required, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
- Collect and maintain data and statistics related to position duties, supporting informed decision-making.
- Assist in coordinating and handling library materials, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Library Technology or equivalent experience.
- Exceptional customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, with a working knowledge of Alma, Primo, Microsoft Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with electronic reserves systems and relevant OCR software an asset.
- A general knowledge of art and design.
- Demonstrated accuracy, attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Will to work evening and weekend shifts as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and diversity, promoting a respectful work and learning environment.
Compensation: OPSEU Unit I, Appendix A, Grade A2; $42,729.45 to $58,762.95 per annum.
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, for a total of 35 hours per week.
