Digital Communications Officer

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Education department is seeking a skilled Digital Communications Officer to join their team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the band's website, social media presence, and other digital communications channels.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital communications strategy to engage with the community and promote the band's initiatives.
- Design and maintain the band's website, ensuring it is user-friendly, visually appealing, and meets the needs of the community.
- Create and curate engaging content for social media platforms, including text, images, and videos.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community members, stakeholders, and other organizations to promote the band's initiatives and build partnerships.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the band's digital communications channels are effective and efficient.
- Diploma in Communications, Website Development, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in digital communications, with a proven track record of success.
- Basic knowledge of search engine optimization (SEO) principles.
- Proven working experience in web programming, with a strong understanding of relational database systems, object-oriented programming, and web application development.
- Interest in the latest developments in web, news, and social media, as well as a passion for the band's mandate and the issues that are important to our members.
- Flexibility and ability to multi-task with continually changing timelines and priorities.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Criminal Record/Vulnerable Sector Check and Driver's Abstract upon hire.
