Clinical Coordinator

Job Summary
As a Clinical Coordinator in our Oncology Chemo Unit, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our healthcare team. Your primary responsibilities will include coordinating appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures, as well as processing clinician orders and maintaining a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Transcribe and process clinician orders by completing and forwarding requisitions for tests or services, using the electronic health record system to schedule appointments and communicate relevant information.
- Organize diagnostic and therapeutic services for patients by coordinating interrelated appointments and preparing related instructions for patients.
- Gather patient information for medical appointments to facilitate efficient patient flow and prepare documents for the clinical team.
- Perform receptionist duties, including greeting and registering patients, answering the telephone, and responding to inquiries.
- Participate in the onboarding and orientation of staff and support student clinical practicums as required.
Requirements
- Grade 12, medical terminology, and graduation from a recognized Nursing Unit Clerk Program, plus one year's recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position and ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to utilize a variety of computer software applications and commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada.
