Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst to join the Retail and Distribution Policy Branch. As a Policy Analyst, you will play a key role in developing expert advice and recommendations for public policy concerning Alberta's electricity and natural gas markets and distribution systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Development: Participate in the development of policy recommendations and advice for the Government of Alberta's electricity and natural gas markets and distribution systems.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough research and analysis to support policy development and decision-making within the Branch.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, understand issues, and develop solutions to address concerns and impacts to the electricity market.
  • Project Coordination: Monitor and coordinate high-priority initiatives and projects, including guidelines, budget forms, and cash flow models.
  • Reporting: Create high-quality reports, reviews, and briefing materials to facilitate executive decision-making, public engagement, and stakeholder communication.

Requirements

The successful candidate must be self-motivated, highly collaborative, and organized. They must have excellent communication and time management skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple ongoing projects.
