Job Summary

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst to join the Energy Transition Division under the Ministry of Energy and Minerals. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for leading policy files and providing exceptional research and analytical skills to support the energy transition priorities of the province.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Development and Legislative Support: Lead the creation of expert advice and recommendations for Alberta's energy transition priorities, including innovative policies and programs to support the growth of Alberta's critical minerals sector.
  • Strategic Research and Advisory: Perform complex research and analysis related to market developments, new technologies, and industry changes and how they may impact Alberta in the energy transition space.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate and occasionally lead departmental and stakeholder teams, working groups, and/or committees on projects and initiatives.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage multiple policy development and implementation projects to ensure effective delivery of the Government of Alberta's strategic objectives regarding Energy Transition.
  • Issue Analysis and Advisory: Facilitate issue identification and risk management for Alberta's energy transition policy framework.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to optimize policy development and implementation across the Branch.
  • Reporting: Lead and collaborate in the development of research reports, position papers, presentations, project management plans, briefings, and other documents related to Ministry issues, strategy, and policy initiatives.
