Senior Policy Analyst

Role Overview
The Government of Alberta's Energy Transition Division is seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst to lead policy files and drive energy transition initiatives. Reporting to the Energy Transition Manager, this role will work closely with cross-ministry partners, industry stakeholders, and intergovernmental partners to support key energy transition priorities.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Development and Legislative Support: Develop expert advice and recommendations for Alberta's energy transition priorities, including innovative policies and programs to support the growth of Alberta's critical minerals sector.
- Strategic Research and Advisory: Conduct complex research and analysis on market developments, new technologies, and industry changes to inform policy decisions.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with departmental and stakeholder teams to communicate key information and support the branch's broader goals.
- Project Management: Lead multiple policy development and implementation projects to ensure effective delivery of the Government of Alberta's strategic objectives.
- Issue Analysis and Advisory: Identify and manage issues related to Alberta's energy transition policy framework.
- Continuous Improvement: Implement process improvements to optimize policy development and implementation across the Branch.
- Reporting: Develop research reports, position papers, and other documents to inform decision-making.
