Role Responsibilities

The Government of Alberta's Strategic Policy and Engagement Unit has an exciting opportunity available for policy professionals looking to leverage their skills in a dynamic and complex environment.

This position reports to the Manager of Strategic Policy & Engagement. The Strategic Policy and Engagement Team supports internal and external stakeholder engagement and related project management and policy development activities to support strategic initiatives across the Ministry of Justice.

As the Senior Engagement Analyst, you will require effective coordination, analytical, and problem-solving skills to respond to sensitive, diverse and complex issues pertaining to the justice system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the development of strategic engagement plans to support ministry and government priorities.
  • Working directly with department experts on engagement activities required to support legislative and policy priorities.
  • Coordinating and planning public facing events such as the annual Community Justice Awards.
  • Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, to plan, oversee, analyze, and coordinate implementation of high priority Justice policies and projects.
  • Conducting research and policy analysis of relevant information to provide strategic advice and options on a number of major policy initiatives that support the Department's strategic directions for the justice system.
