About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Culinary Team Member to join our team at Holland Motor Hotel. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our guests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
    • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances, ensuring their safety and satisfaction.
    • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by a dietitian or chef.
  • Kitchen Operations
    • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to ensure cleanliness and organization.
    • Order supplies and equipment as needed to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
    • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Work Environment and Physical Demands
    • Work in a fast-paced environment with high levels of physical activity.
    • Perform repetitive tasks, such as food preparation and cooking.
  • Personal Suitability
    • Demonstrate initiative and a proactive approach to work.
  • Experience and Education
    • Have a minimum of 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
    • Hold a secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Participate in a government or community program or initiative that supports Indigenous people.
    • Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with Indigenous communities, Indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
    • Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
    • Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
  • Work Environment
    • Work a regular 35-hour week.
    • Work in a permanent position.
    • Work in an environment where English is the primary language spoken.
