Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Manager to join our team at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. As a key member of our Financial Services department, you will be responsible for providing strategic financial planning and analysis to support the Institute's goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and implement financial plans and forecasts to support the Institute's strategic objectives.
  • Budget Management: Manage the Institute's budget, including developing and implementing budget plans, monitoring budget activity, and ensuring compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Business Intelligence: Provide business intelligence services to support the Institute's decision-making processes, including data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting.
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage a team of financial analysts and staff, providing guidance, coaching, and development opportunities to ensure the success of the team.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with stakeholders across the Institute, including department managers, directors, and senior leadership, to provide financial information and analysis to support decision-making.
Requirements
  • Professional Accounting Designation: Possess a professional accounting designation, such as CPA or CMA.
  • Relevant Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in financial planning and analysis, budget management, and business intelligence.
  • Strong Analytical and Communication Skills: Possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Possess strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead and manage a team of financial analysts and staff.
