Job Description

The successful candidate will assist the Recreation Coordinator in planning, organizing, and delivering daily routine activities related to the day program. This includes maintaining a high standard of program delivery, establishing effective working relationships with colleagues, and performing other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the role of the assistant to the Recreation Coordinator in planning, organizing, developing, enforcing rules, evaluating recreation, fitness, and overseeing day-to-day operations of the facility.
  • Provide personal assistance to participants as necessary, and to perform program tasks accordingly in a professional manner.
  • Actively participate in all programming and assume leadership through facilitation of programming when the Recreation Coordinator is occupied or away.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers and work together in order to develop team dynamics and group cohesiveness.
Requirements
  • Completion of certificate/diploma/degree program in Recreation Field or in progress.
  • Related experience in therapeutic recreation provision.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and proficiency in English communication.
  • Current member of a professional organization (e.g., Recreation Connections).
  • Computer proficiency.

Salary Information

The estimated annual salary for this position is $28,100 based on 0.8 FTE and an hourly wage of $17.50.
