**Job Overview:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team in the Day Surgery department at Victoria General Hospital.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert clinical guidance and support to nursing staff, ensuring that patients receive high-quality care throughout their surgical journey.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical nursing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to nursing staff on complex patient care cases.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based practice guidelines to improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and maintain comprehensive patient care plans.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to hospital policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient care activities and provide timely reports to management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in surgical nursing, preferably in a leadership role.
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.

Working Conditions:

  • Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Regular exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other infectious materials.
