About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Funeral Assistant to join our team at Park Lawn Corporation. As a Funeral Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support during their time of need.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Interaction: Interact directly with client families, providing them with information and assistance as needed.
  • Funeral Service Coordination: Assist in the coordination of funeral services, including greeting visitors, coordinating pallbearers, and parking.
  • Facility Maintenance: Ensure that public spaces, such as the lobby, chapels, restrooms, and reception areas, are clean and prepared for scheduled services.
  • Transportation Support: Assist client families in and out of limousines, with special emphasis on providing attention to the handicapped and elderly.
  • Team Support: Assist the team in the movement of casketed deceased and other related items in and out of the visitation area, funeral home chapel, church, or other place of service.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Possess a valid driver's license in good standing and be able to lift a minimum of 30lbs and occasionally lift in excess of 80lbs.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, community leaders, and grieving client families.
  • Emotional Intelligence: Ability to empathize with client families and their guests, demonstrating tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
  • Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and exercise good judgment.
Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, and uneven ground. The employee will be required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift to 25 pounds. This position may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Travel Requirements

This position requires out-of-area and overnight travel.
