The Opportunity

As a Senior HR Business Partner at ApplyBoard, you'll be at the forefront of our mission, collaborating directly with senior leadership to develop and direct HR strategies that align with our global company-wide objectives. Reporting to the Vice President (VP) for People and Culture, you'll play a pivotal role in driving our People & Culture initiatives forward, supporting organizational growth, and fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Partnership: Partner with senior leadership to understand business challenges and propose solutions focused on enhancing employee engagement
  • Strategic Alignment: Establish and drive HR programs/talent initiatives forward while ensuring alignment with business needs and objectives
  • Employee Relations: Provide hands-on and data-driven inputs and advice to Divisional Leaders on people-related issues. Resolve complex employee relations issues and conduct thorough investigations and escalate issues as needed to ensure a positive work environment
  • Talent Management: Oversee workforce planning and succession planning initiatives, identify training needs, and assist with training initiatives to support employee development and career advancement
  • Continuous Improvement: Suggest new HR strategies, participate in the continuous improvement of systems and processes, and leverage HR metrics and reporting to drive data-driven decision-making

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR business partner or HR Generalist, with at least 2 years working directly with business units
  • University or College Diploma in business specializing in Human Resources, or equivalent. CHRP/CHRL designation preferred
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a full understanding of all HR functions and best practices
  • Thorough knowledge of labor legislation and commitment to workplace compliance and standards
  • Strategic thinker with analytical skills and a goal-oriented approach
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and de-escalate conflicts
  • Experience with HR metrics, reporting, and analysis
  • Proficiency in using HR tools such as Workday is an asset
  • Ability to conduct presentations and experience working in a high-growth tech company is advantageous
