Job Summary

The Law Society of Ontario is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. As an HR Business Partner, you will be responsible for delivering effective HR services and an engaging employee experience to our clients. You will provide expert knowledge and support to leaders, managers, and employees in assigned client groups, covering employee relations, total rewards, organizational design, workforce planning, job definition, learning and development, performance management, and recruitment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support people leaders and employees on the implementation of human resource management processes, practices, and initiatives.
  • Actively participate in stakeholder discussions to identify organizational needs and implement processes and approaches to address these needs.
  • Implement strategies to optimize employee engagement within client groups.
  • Support managers and employees on the implementation of human resource management processes, practices, and initiatives.
  • Support the Manager, Employee Advisory Services in ensuring that HR services, policies, and practices meet the needs of the Law Society and comply with applicable legislation.

Requirements

  • A university degree in business, human resources management, or a related field.
  • A minimum 7+ years' progressive experience in employee relations and HR business partner/HR advisory role to people leaders.
  • CHRP/CHRL designation and Registered Professional Recruiter certification considered assets.
  • Strong general business acumen.
  • Solid understanding of Ontario employment-related legislation, Human Resource Management, development COE best practices, and effective HR services delivery.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments and its practical application in a regulatory environment.
  • Knowledge of best practices and experience with general business practices, recruitment, people management, HR business partnering, job design, and workforce planning.

Working Arrangement

The Law Society has introduced a Distributed Workforce Model to leverage flexibility and agility, and to maximize employee productivity and engagement. Work arrangements will be determined by role and departmental requirements.
