About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Métis Economic Development Officer to join our team at the Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF). The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing economic and community development initiatives that advance the interests of the MMF and its citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement economic and community development action plans to advance the interests of the MMF and its citizens;
  • Support key economic development initiatives that align with MMF priorities and directives;
  • Conduct sector-specific data analysis to identify opportunities for Red River Métis inclusion and participation;
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to advance economic and community development initiatives;
  • Support MMF Ministers with an economic development mandate through the delivery of initiatives and activities.
Requirements
  • College or university education related to Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field;
  • Experience working in economic and community development, or in a private sector context with experience in advancing collective or company interests;
  • Experience conducting data analysis or research, and a strong understanding of data-driven decision making;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting with diverse groups of team members, partners, and clients;
  • Experience working for a not-for-profit organization and/or Indigenous Government is an asset;
  • Knowledge of Red River Métis culture, MMF programs, and services is a definite asset.
