Métis Economic Development Officer Job Description

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is seeking a highly skilled Métis Economic Development Officer to join our Economic Development Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing economic and community development initiatives that advance the interests of the MMF and Red River Métis Citizens.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement economic and community development action plans that align with MMF priorities and directives;
  2. Support key economic development initiatives that promote Red River Métis inclusion and participation in various sectors;
  3. Conduct sector-specific data analysis to identify opportunities for economic growth and community development;
  4. Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders to advance economic and community development initiatives;
  5. Support MMF Ministers with economic development mandates through the delivery of initiatives and activities.
Requirements:
  1. College or university education in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field;
  2. Experience working in economic and community development, with a focus on advancing collective or company interests;
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct data analysis and research;
  4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and team members;
  5. Knowledge of Red River Métis culture and MMF programs and services is an asset;
  6. Ability to travel and possess a valid Manitoba Driver's license with access to a reliable vehicle.
