Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Secretary to provide secretarial and administrative support to our team. The successful candidate will maintain a line of accountability to their assigned areas in matters relating to the day-to-day functions of the position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Maintain a records management system, including classifying and coding electronic and hard-copy files.
  • Perform word processing tasks, including typing and proofreading.
  • Utilize computer software, including Microsoft Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Databases.
  • Deal with sensitive and confidential information using a balanced, unbiased approach to performance of job duties.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years secretarial experience in a health/medical related environment.
  • Experience with medical transcription as well as medical terminology preferred.
  • Grade 12 or recognized equivalent.
  • Formal training in applied office skills is required with an understanding of medical terminology.

Working Conditions

This is a term position with the possibility of extension. The successful candidate will be required to maintain a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment.
