Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at the Nova Scotia Health Authority. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our patients and contribute to delivering exceptional healthcare services.
About the RoleThis role will involve working closely with patients, families, and healthcare teams to provide respiratory care and support. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing patient needs, developing treatment plans, and implementing evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients' respiratory status and develop individualized care plans
- Administer oxygen therapy, medication, and other treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and services
- Provide education and support to patients and families on respiratory health and disease management
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or a related field
- Current certification as a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) in Canada
- Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, preferably in a hospital or clinical setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks
