The Court Administration Clerk role at Norfolk County is an exciting opportunity to join our team in Simcoe and contribute to the administration of justice. This temporary full-time position offers a competitive salary, ranging from $26.95 to $33.65 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

As a key member of the Corporate Services division, you will be responsible for providing high-quality administrative support to the Provincial Offences Administration office. Your primary duties will include:

  • Providing front counter and telephone services to the public, judiciary, prosecutors, enforcement agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Assisting with court clerking, including endorsing court dispositions, recording court proceedings, arraigning defendants, and making notes for transcription purposes.
  • Supporting collection activities, including data entry and assistance with efforts to collect monies owing on court-ordered fines.
  • Preparing court orders, jail papers, probation orders, general warrants, bench warrants, Dog Owner's Liability Act orders (DOLA), and motions.
  • Maintaining statistical reports and performing data entry into ICON and Excel spreadsheets.

To excel in this role, you should possess strong knowledge of court administration principles, practices, and procedures. A post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field, combined with over one year of administrative experience, is preferred. Familiarity with corporate standard software, including Microsoft Office, ICON, and Liberty Digital Recording System, is essential.
