Housing Resource Specialist

The Housing Resource Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the community through the provision of housing services.
As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for receiving and responding to inquiries about community housing, affordable housing, and homelessness programs offered in Haldimand and Norfolk Counties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and assessing applications for community housing, determining eligibility for housing, rent subsidy, and/or special priority status in accordance with the Housing Services Act, 2011
- Managing the community housing centralized waitlist for Haldimand and Norfolk Counties, ensuring compliance with the Housing Services Act, 2011
- Generating statistical reports for the Program Manager, Housing Services
- Distributing vacancy and waiting list reports for all community housing providers in Haldimand and Norfolk Counties
- Administering rental assistance and housing support service programs in accordance with applicable provincial or federal program guidelines
- Acting as a liaison and resource person on issues related to housing and homelessness
To excel in this role, you will require:
Four (4) year University Degree in social work, social sciences, or equivalent
Plus over one-year experience in a related field (housing services, social services, or counselling)
Key skills and abilities include:
- Knowledge of community housing stock, eligibility, and rent geared to income assistance
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to operate general office equipment
- A valid Ontario driver's license and access to a vehicle
The successful candidate can expect a competitive salary of $60-$80 per hour, commensurate with experience.
