Tenant Support Specialist

The Ontario Municipal Social Services Association is seeking a skilled Tenant Support Specialist to join our team. As a Tenant Support Specialist, you will provide support to vulnerable tenants in our portfolio, making referrals to community agencies and improving the quality of life at our properties. This role requires a strong knowledge of property management in a social housing environment and the ability to exercise independence and integrity while working in a non-standard work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to vulnerable tenants, including referrals to community agencies.
  • Work with tenants to identify and address challenges that may impact their tenancies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers.
  • Collaborate with other SCHC team members to build social work strategy capacity within the team.

Requirements
  • Social Services Worker Diploma or Social Work degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Eligible to obtain a membership in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Service Workers and Social Workers (OCSSWSW) within 90 days.
  • Strong knowledge of property management in a social housing environment.
  • Ability to exercise independence and integrity while working in a non-standard work environment.
  • Working knowledge of relevant legislation, including Residential Tenancies Act, Housing Services Act, and associated regulations and privacy legislation.
  • Valid Ontario Driver's license and ability to travel.
  • Criminal reference check with vulnerable sector clearance.
  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a progressively responsible, related position.

Salary Range
$52,744.00 - $64,173.00 per annum
