Job Title: Landscaping Supervisor

JS Romana Landscaping is seeking a skilled Landscaping Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and upkeep of our outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of landscapers and ensure they have the necessary tools and resources to complete tasks efficiently.
  • Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure our outdoor spaces are well-maintained and visually appealing.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Create detailed estimates for projects and ensure that all necessary materials are ordered and delivered on time.
  • Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Oversee the construction of outdoor structures and ensure they are built to the highest standards.
  • Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Coordinate with contractors and suppliers to ensure that all landscape construction projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of all work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues that arise.
  • Tender and Administer Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and contractors to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret blueprints and drawings to ensure that all construction projects are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Source and procure all necessary materials, equipment, and supplies to complete projects.
  • Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues that arise during projects and provide technical guidance to ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.
Requirements:
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work Site Environment: Outdoors
  • Supervision: 5-10 people
  • Equipment and Machinery Experience: Chain saw, Small engine equipment, Sod cutter, Tractor mower
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
  • Personal Suitability: Client focus, Excellent oral communication, Initiative, Judgement, Team player
