Key Responsibilities:- Hire, Supervise, and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of grounds maintenance professionals, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to complete tasks efficiently.
- Plan and Direct Grounds Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance plans to ensure our outdoor spaces are well-manicured and visually appealing.
- Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Conduct site assessments to determine the necessary resources required for each project, ensuring accurate estimates and timely completion.
- Organize and Direct Construction of Decks and Decorative or Retaining Walls: Collaborate with contractors and suppliers to design and build custom outdoor features that enhance our clients' properties.
- Plan, Manage, and Supervise Landscape Construction Work: Oversee the installation of new landscaping features, ensuring they meet our high standards for quality and aesthetics.
- Maintain Work Records and Logs: Accurately document all maintenance activities, including staff hours, materials used, and project progress.
- Tender and Administer Contracts: Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and contractors, ensuring timely delivery and quality workmanship.
- Read Blueprints and Drawings: Interpret technical plans and specifications to ensure accurate implementation of outdoor maintenance projects.
- Requisition or Order Materials, Equipment, and Supplies: Procure the necessary resources to support our grounds maintenance operations, ensuring timely delivery and quality products.
- Resolve Work Problems, Provide Technical Advice, and Recommend Measures to Improve Productivity and Product Quality: Troubleshoot issues and provide guidance to staff to optimize their performance and deliver exceptional results.
- Establish Work Schedules and Procedures: Develop and implement efficient work schedules and procedures to ensure seamless operations and high-quality outcomes.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Work Site Environment: Outdoors
- Supervision: 5-10 people
- Equipment and Machinery Experience: Chain saw, Small engine equipment, Sod cutter, Tractor mower
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, Handling heavy loads, Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Bending, crouching, kneeling
