About the Position

As a Research and Development Technician, you will play a key role in supporting scientists, engineers, and line operations with high technical and administrative expertise. This position involves working with specialized research equipment or computational facilities, diagnosing and correcting technical problems, and developing new techniques and test procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Develops new specialized techniques, test procedures, and standards under general supervision of professional staff.
  • Assists professional staff in diagnosing causes of system, equipment, or material failure using advanced testing methods and equipment.
  • Performs background research and literature searches as needed, evaluates results, and formulates recommendations.
  • Provides information and options for product or process modification to improve system performance or to better meet customer and other users' needs.
  • Researches, designs, and analyzes the results of new experiments.
  • Assists in managing the daily operations and finances of a laboratory or technical operation for a department.
Requirements
  • University degree in a relevant discipline or technical program ideally related to pathology, with a minimum of four years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of histology techniques, including sectioning, staining, and immunohistochemistry is an asset.
  • Graduate degree in a health sciences-related field is an asset.
Estimated Salary Range

$57,652.00 - $71,551.00 per year, based on qualifications and experience.
