We are seeking a highly skilled Research Economist to join our team in Ottawa, Canada.

About the Job

The successful candidate will work as part of our Economics and Social Science Services Development Program, providing research support to policy branches within the Department of Finance Canada.

This is a competency-based career development and progression program designed for the Economics and Social Science Services community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct high-quality research and analysis to support policy development
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the department to develop and implement economic policies
  • Provide research support to senior officials and policymakers
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A Ph.D. in economics or a related field
  • Proven research experience, including publication of academic papers and presentations at conferences
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $98,299 to $113,141 (EC-05 group and level) or $111,057 to $128,799 (target level EC-06).

In addition to your base salary, you may also be eligible for relocation assistance up to a maximum of $5,000 under the Initial Appointees Relocation Program.
