Water Treatment Specialist

Job DescriptionWe are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Water Technologist Co-op to join our team. As a Water Technologist Co-op, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced professionals in the field of industrial water treatment, gaining valuable experience and skills.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Reviewing and generating system drawings and PFDs for use in on-site manuals and proposals
- Conducting wet testing in laboratory on water samples
- Actively monitoring process equipment performance through online tools
- Assisting in completing monthly reporting requirements
- Managing bulk chemical inventory and assisting with ordering chemical products as required
- Working with supervisors on plant equipment optimization opportunities
- Performing field checks on process equipment (flows, pH, conductivity, chemical residuals, etc.)
Requirements:
- Experience performing basic chemical tasks such as titrations, pH & conductivity measurements, and using other simple chemistry lab instruments
- Basic mechanical skills to help troubleshoot chemical feed equipment
- Computer skills - use of Microsoft Office, Visio, and online data management
- Strong teamwork & communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and maintain deliverables in a fast-paced work environment
Education:
- This role is best suited for anyone currently enrolled in or who has recently completed a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) program (Chemical, Environmental, Industrial, or Mechanical) or a Chemistry Bachelor of Science (BSc) program. Consideration will also be given to other science-based technical programs and degrees.
