The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Dryland Program Leader to join our team at the City of Red Deer. As a key member of our childcare services team, you will be responsible for leading preschool programs, services, and special events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead preschool programs and services, ensuring a safe and engaging environment for children.
- Develop and implement program plans, activities, and events that meet the needs of children and families.
- Supervise and support childcare staff, providing guidance and coaching to ensure high-quality care and education.
- Collaborate with other departments and community partners to promote early childhood development and family support.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and City of Red Deer policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Demonstrated high level of verbal, written, and listening skills.
- Proven leadership skills.
- Possession of a valid Alberta Driver's License.
- Commitment to the City's Cornerstone Values.
- Ability to do minor lifting.
- Ability to work in noisy conditions.
- Ability to work in stressful conditions and deal with conflict situations.
- Level I Childcare Certificate.
- Childcare First Aid Certificate.
What We Offer:
Competitive hourly rate of $23.87 to $25.27 per hour.
40 hours biweekly, as scheduled. Availability required for weekdays, evenings, weekends, early mornings, and potential split shifts as dryland programming and business needs require.
Additional Information:
This is a 14-month term position.
