Job Opportunity:

The ideal candidate for this role is a passionate and experienced nurse who has a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care. As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and contributing to the development of policies and procedures that promote safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and guidance to nursing staff
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote safe and effective patient care
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve quality patient outcomes
  • Contribute to the development and revision of policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality improvement activities
Requirements:
  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) Certification
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good communication skills and the ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships
  • Competence in relevant technical nursing skills and a willingness to learn new skills as required
  • Demonstrated ongoing responsibility for maintaining own continuing competence through professional development activities
  • Ability to work shift work
