About the Role

The First Nations Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations and Medical Governance to lead the development and implementation of human resource strategies, including proposed organizational structures, the establishment of qualifications, recruitment, compensation models, cultural safety & humility standards including workplace conduct, standards, continuing medical education, leadership development programs, etc. as related to the hiring of medical professionals in the Primary Care projects led by BC First Nations.

The Director of Operations and Medical Governance will provide operational leadership of medical staff including governance, credentialing and contracting, in accordance with federal and provincial legislation, policies and procedures. The position also provides leadership in the planning and implementation of medical administration initiatives related to the delivery of physician services in the BC First Nation led Primary Care projects.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Public Health Administration, Health Care Administration or Business Administration or a relevant field.
  • A Master's degree would be an asset.
  • Relevant, recent and significant experience working with Medical Staff.
  • Relevant, recent and significant experience working within BC's health care system (usually acquired over 8-10 years).
  • Experience working with Indigenous individuals, communities and/or organizations in the area of health and wellness.
  • Experience planning, supervising, and evaluating programs and services.
  • Experience in the area of medical affairs and / or medical staff governance would be a considerable asset.
