Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a highly skilled Medical Affairs Coordinator to join their team. As a key member of the Medical Affairs Administration team, you will provide confidential credentialing and privileging support for VCH Medical Affairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide credentialing and privileging support for VCH Medical Affairs, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of all physician demographic and privileging information.
  • Interface with senior management staff and physicians to perform duties, including handling confidential complaints and responding to inquiries regarding credentialing and privileging processes.
  • Focus on coordination, monitoring, and support of the VCH credentialing and privileging processes, maintaining related databases and ensuring information is available throughout Vancouver Coastal Health.
  • Develop effective relationships with VCH staff, external agencies, and physicians to achieve departmental effectiveness and contribute to organizational success.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Graduation from a recognized administrative assistant/secretarial post-secondary program.
  • Three (3) years' of senior administrative support experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Advanced word-processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation software skills.

Knowledge & Abilities

  • A sound knowledge of physician credentialing and privileging processes.
  • Demonstrated customer-focused approach.
  • Exercises considerable judgment, tact, and discretion when preparing, disclosing, and handling information of a confidential and/or sensitive nature.
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with VCH staff at all levels and with external agencies and physicians.
  • Superior computer and technical skills are essential.
  • Ability to influence change and handle conflict.
  • Works well independently and is self-directed.
  • Communicates in a compelling, professional, clear, and understandable manner (both verbally and in writing) to represent the team's interests with various stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and contributes to organizational success.
  • Ability to organize high-volume workload and set priorities.
  • Independent and effective problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
  • Practices care and thoroughness when maintaining, monitoring, calculating, and summarizing data and other information.
  • Collaborates with peers to ensure administrative systems and processes are consistently followed and monitored for effectiveness and that gaps are addressed and resolved when identified.
  • Employs expertise in the use of current computer applications to create a variety of documents and presentations.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
