Job Title: Sales Director – New Business Development
Location: Preferably Greater Toronto Area
Responsibilities:
- This role focuses on 100% new business development, building and converting pipeline in the Retail and CPG sector.
- The successful candidate will identify sales leads through established networks, develop strategies, and build new opportunities in the Retail and CPG sector.
- Maintain high customer loyalty and build trust and integrity, as measured by company surveys and reports.
- Engage senior executives to build strategic relationships with customers, ensuring long-term business opportunities for the company.
- Present to large groups of key decision-makers at the executive level, developing and communicating vision and purpose.
- Drive customer proposals, solution defenses, orals, and division/company-wide events independently.
- Advise customers on HCL, industry trends, best practices, and cross-industry applicability (business).
- Develop proposal strategies and win themes.
- Manage client expectations, balancing the needs of the company and the client for mutual satisfaction.
- Influence decisions and engage at the executive level (Relationship Management).
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong rolodex in Retail and CPG industries; demonstrable experience in creating opportunities from a defined territory using sales principles.
- 20 years of relevant experience selling into Retail and CPG sectors.
- Extensive experience interacting, presenting, and working with C-level executives, able to meet them independently to qualify opportunities.
- Experience working with outsourcing advisors like ISG, Avasant, Alsbridge, etc.
- Ability to sell medium to large multi-year integrated deals independently.
- Deep understanding of Canadian Retail and CPG industries, buying/selling patterns, client dynamics, and competitive landscape.
- Experience working with top Tier-1 management consulting firms or top Tier-1 global suppliers.
Personal Qualities and Education:
- A hands-on executive who can assimilate into the corporate culture and become involved as a member of the high-performing team.
- A professional with credibility and expertise that gains immediate acceptance and respect within the organization.
- High performance expectations; comfort level in a results-oriented, yet team-oriented collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience; MBA preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to develop compelling proposals and business plans.
- French as an additional language is preferred.
- Readiness to travel over 60%.
