About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vendor Management Team Lead to join our team at Teck. As a key member of our Strategic Partnerships team, you will be responsible for managing relationships with key vendors to deliver value and support strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Develop and maintain positive relationships with key vendors, acting as the primary point of contact.
  • Performance Monitoring: Ensure vendor services align strictly with business objectives and deliver desired value.
  • Process Improvement: Foster collaboration between vendors and internal teams to improve service delivery.
  • Contract Management: Support the management of vendor agreements with procurement teams to ensure favorable conditions for the organization.
  • Vendor Contract Lifecycle Management: Support the lifecycle of vendor contracts, including negotiation, renewal, and termination in collaboration with procurement teams.
  • Issue Resolution: Work with legal and procurement teams to address any contract-related issues or disputes.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all vendor contracts and related documentation.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, procurement, legal, and operations, to ensure vendor services meet business needs.
  • Strategic Recommendations: Recommend and implement improvements to vendor management strategies and processes.
  • Escalation Point: Serve as the escalation point for vendor-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
Requirements
  • Education: College/University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Certifications: Relevant certifications in vendor management, contract management, or supply chain management are an asset.
  • Experience: 4-6 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field.
  • Knowledge: Vast knowledge of effective vendor management techniques and industry norms.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation skills, strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Industry Experience: Experience in the mining or heavy industry sector is an asset.
