Key Responsibilities- Lead Vendor Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with key vendors, acting as the primary point of contact to ensure vendor services align strictly with business objectives and deliver desired value.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance and identify areas for improvement to uphold Teck's standards.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify and mitigate risks associated with vendor relationships to ensure business continuity.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams to improve vendor management strategies and processes.
- Contract Management: Support the management of vendor agreements with procurement teams to ensure favorable conditions for the organization.
- Vendor Contract Lifecycle Management: Work with legal and procurement teams to address any contract-related issues or disputes.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all vendor contracts and related documentation.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including IT, procurement, legal, and operations, to ensure vendor services meet business needs.
- Strategic Recommendations: Recommend and implement improvements to vendor management strategies and processes.
- Issue Resolution: Serve as the escalation point for vendor-related issues, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Education: College/University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in vendor management, contract management, or supply chain management are an asset.
- Experience: 4-6 years of experience in vendor management, procurement, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Vast knowledge of effective vendor management techniques and industry norms.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to manage multiple vendor relationships and priorities in a dynamic environment.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the mining or heavy industry sector is an asset.
