About Our Client

Our client is a well-established general contractor with a strong history of successfully completing significant projects for various public sector clients, particularly in the fields of education, health care, and municipal or provincial government.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our project management team, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning and coordination of project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for ICI building and renovation projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and current project documentation, including contracts and progress reports.
  • Monitor project budgets and timelines to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring successful and profitable project delivery.
  • Assist in coordinating and managing relationships with subcontractors during contract negotiations.
  • Partner with Site Superintendents to uphold high health and safety standards on-site at all times.
  • Support the implementation of quality control measures to ensure construction meets all required standards and specifications.
  • Facilitate and assist with the project closeout process.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry, ideally in an assistant project management or project coordination role within an established ICI General Contractors.
  • Experience managing multiple full-cycle new construction and renovation projects for health care facilities, universities, or government buildings.
  • Educational background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proficient in project management software and tools.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction laws and building codes, with a basic understanding of budget management, schedule management, and construction quality control processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Skilled in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing effectively.
