Overview

The Wickaninnish Inn, a renowned Relais & Chateaux property and Forbes 4-Diamond Resort, is seeking an experienced Luxury Wine Connoisseur to join our esteemed fine dining restaurant team. Our ideal candidate will possess a deep passion for wine and spirits, as well as exceptional leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional wine and spirit service to guests, ensuring seamless and personalized experiences that exceed expectations.
  • Lead by example, demonstrating a proactive approach to delivering outstanding results and promoting a culture of excellence within the restaurant team.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient inventory management, product rotation, and quality control across all food and beverage outlets.
  • Assist the Director of Food & Beverage in planning and executing wine and spirit offerings, including tastings and training seminars for staff and guests.
  • Support the service team and floor manager during shifts, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of inventory, cellar management, and financial goals, analyzing results and providing insights for continuous improvement.
  • Familiarize yourself with guest preferences and special requests, striving to exceed their expectations through exceptional service.
Requirements
  • Prior experience as a server and sommelier in a fine dining restaurant, with a focus on wine and spirit service.
  • Thorough knowledge of wine, spirits, and other alcohols, with extensive expertise in BC wines and Old World wines.
  • Strong self-motivation for continuous education and professional growth.
  • A professional attitude, attention to detail, and consistent punctuality.
  • A calm, polite, and composed demeanor, with a desire to contribute innovative ideas towards ongoing improvement.
Compensation and Benefits
