We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Enrolment Assistant to join our team at Thompson Rivers University. In this role, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining student and course records, responding to student and staff enquiries, and assisting with the creation and maintenance of operating manuals and internal documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Manage student and course records, including data entry and record cleanup.
- Respond to student, parent, staff, and community enquiries via phone, email, or in-person.
- Assist with the creation and maintenance of operating manuals and internal documentation.
- Open and distribute departmental mail.
- Maintain knowledge of TRU policies and procedures, particularly those related to academic matters.
- Generate standard communications, such as acknowledgement letters and admission offers.
- Support large-scale communications for designated offices.
- Identify and bring forward potential issues with application, registration, and records information.
- Generate reports, including prospect, applicant, registration, and graduation reports.
- Assist with designated office initiatives related to annual enrolment cycles and awareness campaigns.
- Grade 12 plus one year Certificate, Legal Office Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, or Administrative Assistant (or equivalent).
- Two years' related experience working in an educational, clinical, or legal setting, preferably in a post-secondary institution.
- Intermediate skills with Word and Excel.
- Ability to operate related equipment, such as document scanners, printers, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Ability to follow established procedures and accurately enter high volumes of data in a high-pressure environment.
- Sitting at a desk and computer for periods of time.
- Long periods of customer service, often with individuals who are under stress and/or in distress.
