Job Summary:

NEXUS Community Support Society is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team. As a Community Support Specialist, you will work in a team and/or individual environment with the needs of the individuals supported by NEXUS as the primary focus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and facilitate opportunities based on the needs and goals set by the individual and their support network.
  • Facilitate community inclusion in a variety of settings in our community and surrounding area.
  • Complete documentation on a regular basis that outlines individual's success, needs and or further support that may be required.
  • Participate in meetings, training opportunities and service planning as required.
  • Must hold a valid class 5 (or better) drivers license – drivers abstract required.
  • Related experience working with adults with diverse-abilities is considered an asset.
  • Basic computer skills and physical ability to carry out the duties as required.
  • First Aid (Level 1)
  • Paid training
